Every student takes the same check, by the route that works for them.
What is built in, what is tested, and what is not yet tested.
The check
Every question is shown as text and spoken aloud, with the quoted line from the student's own work on screen. The typed form is the Section 504 accommodation and the choice of any student who declines recording; it is labeled on the record and priced the same. Extended time is a setting: each spoken answer has ninety seconds by default, and there is no clock on the whole check. An interpreter seat is available. Settings filed from an accommodation letter are logged on the record, and a check run without a filed letter's setting is free.
What it never scores
Fluency, accent, pace, or the voice itself. The rubric is the instructor's, and it carries no such criterion. No face, no voiceprint, no eye tracking.
The standard
Every student and instructor screen is designed to WCAG 2.1 AA: keyboard operable, labeled for screen readers, captions on every spoken prompt, color contrast checked, and motion that stops when the reader's system asks for reduced motion.
What is tested, and by whom
This website's color pairs are checked by script on every build, and its one moving picture stops under a reduced-motion setting. The product's screens are tested by their builders against WCAG 2.1 AA before the first pilot term. No outside audit has been done yet; the first one will be named here when it is.
Barriers
If anything on this site or in the check is in your way, write to hello@oraliq.co and say what happened. You get a reply within two business days, and a route to the same check.
